Codedmasters have now released a SoM pre-patch for Europe only (hah!). You can find the torrent link here: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/s...339&page=5. As expected, 1 GB in size; currently coming in moderately slowly, averaging 40 kb/s, but what the hell, we won't be able to use it for some days anyway...

As agreed at the last council meeting, once SoM arrives, regular kinship activities will be as follows: Tuesday and Friday evenings will remain raid evenings, precise target to be determined/modified as we go; for the time being, we will continue to raid DN. Thursday and Sunday evenings at 7.00 pm (UK time) will be Skirmish nights; these will not be posted under events and will have no signup list or priority, since any number can take part. On these nights, anyone interested should turn up on time at the Kin Hall, and we will decide on the spot where to go, or indeed whether to try one of the 3 or 6-man instances instead.

EDIT: In addition, there will be no official kin raids organised for the first few days after the launch of SoM, since I assume we will all be off exploring. The first kin raid after the launch will take place on Tuesday 8 December. Have fun!

A 6-man TWA raid waltzed through the Rift last night taking down all six bosses including of course Thaurlach the Balrog. The team consisted of Maconabo, Eowren, Ceredir, Teolwyn, Cycorus (who replaced Shauna after Zurm went down) and Kairos. Next, a 6-man Helegrod?

After watching a 20+ Oldlineth Oaks raid kill Ferndur, taking several casualties in the process, a five-man TWA hit-team consisting of Yselda, Ceredir, Maurvaethil, Indo and Kairos (joined in the final stages by Draneth) went in and took down the dread Master of Imlad Balchor without incurring a single fatality...

After a first visit last week, tonight Thoronthor, Kairos, Lakeborn, Finella, Emithryth, Teolwyn, Belegwe, Ceredir, Feandil, Gifford, Maconabo and Freolyn managed to defeat the Mistress of Pestilence, the final boss of Dar Narbugud. Congratulations!

Ok, got the new Mumble server up and running complete with channels and access settings. I've assigned our old subdomain to it last night so that should be updated by now. I've made accounts for the officers again, so expect a message from me with username and password. Only thing that isn't working yet is the Mumble character/channel view on the frontpage, I'm still working on that with the provider, but I consider it non-essential for now. I'll update the quick-start guide etc. right after this post.

Tonight a good looking, well equipped raiding party of The Western Alliance & friends managed to secure yet another foothold in the evil caverns of Dar Narbugud. Under the skilled leadership of Thoronthor, Kairos, Lonsamoot, Jebidiah, Teolwyn, Belegwe, Ceredir, Khandaris, Caron, Druth, Lakeborn and Marcelon defeated The Blind One. Congratulations on beating the most difficult agent of evil that's within our reach at the moment! A well deserved victory after evenings of practice, technical setbacks and 'tactical retreats'.

Tonight a bunch of TWA chickens made a successful march from Sandson's farm in the Shire to Rivendell, far back in the Trollshaws. Unfortunately the horse, Rohyrn, we were looking for was unable to help us protect our coop. Also ~Ceredir was ambushed underway, we mourn his fate, but no doubt he'll make it one day. I'd like to thank all elves, men, dwarves and hobbits who guarded us during our trip. Especially brave Ellienne who protected three lost chickens on her own in the middle of the High Moor at just level 44 ! Special thanks to our friends from CRSA for allowing us to use their ventrilo server while Mumble was offline.

From Ingaras: I'd like to point out to everyone that I've installed a modification to the forum that uses proper, Daylight Saving Times aware timezones instead of raw offsets. However as a result of this, your own personal timezones have been reset to the default UK time. In order to fix this, go to your profile, go to Look and Layout preferences and select your country for the right timezone.

Just before I head out for the weekend, I wanted to let you know that we hope to announce details of our Mirkwood pre-order offerings next week.
As explained earlier this week, we still have some final bits that need approvals and as soon as that's all done we'll be good to go.
