Ormarr comes from Dale, the town located in the shadow of Erebor, the Lonely Mountain. His family has a long history of military service so it was only natural that he follow the same path also.
When the conflicts started that signalled the possible coming of a war he was sent west to lend assistance to the Men there. So he assembled a small entourage led by his old friend and trusted second in command Bytor Strongarm and made his way to Bree. Arriving in Bree-land he was promptly sent to Archet to assist with their growing problems with the brigands...

Ormarr stands at just over 6ft tall and has very dark skin. His overall heritage is unknown and since his family has always lived in Dale it has never been questioned.

Proficient in mining and smelting several different types of ore he can also work with the ingots produced from the precious metals and jewels he collects to make jewellery and other bodily adorments.

I might start looking at it again, though it's all a matter of interest really...and it's not a kinship, it's a community, of sorts...
