TWA Application- Dozuka (Warden)

#1

1. NAME (optional)

Charlie ‘Targie’ Ives

If addressing me OOC, Targie would be ideal, but of course I won’t stress about it. Any of my character names will be fine.

2. AGE
(If you prefer, indicate which range you fall into: Under 16 / 18-21 / 21-30 / Over 30)

18

3. COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE

United Kingdom

4. TIMEZONE

GMT

5. PREVIOUS MMORPG EXPERIENCE
(i.e., other online games played or currently playing)

Oh dear, I’ll just list the main ones.

The Matrix Online

Granado Espada (Sword of the New World in the UK and America, I played on the Singapore server though)

Guild Wars

Megaten Imagine

About a hundred others that escape me at the moment, I’m a sucker for open/closed betas though I’m not nearly as bad as I used to be.

6. PREVIOUS LOTRO EXPERIENCE
(i.e., how long have you been playing, etc.)

Well, this will be rather vague. I started playing sometime after Mines Of Moria was released but before pre-orders were being taken for Siege of Mirkwood. The closest I could get would be shortly before the addition of the quest guide. I lost a lot of my available time approximately 2-3 months after that and stopped playing. (This time was spent playing on what is now an alt: Ordain Hruban)

I came back the day the servers migrated and have been active since then. (I created a new character who is now my main: Dozuka)

7. HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF OTHER KINSHIPS?

(if so, which, and why you left them)

Northwind Free Company. It disbanded and its members joined TWA, however I didn’t feel I was active enough at the time to migrate over, this was in turn correct as for a great length of time I did not play the game at all. I now have significantly more free time and have had a reasonable level of activity since I returned; I also see no sign of that changing anytime soon and will actively endeavour to ensure I continue to be active.

8. YOUR MAIN CHARACTER

(name, class, level, some idea of equipment)

Name: Dozuka
Race: Man (Female)
Class: Warden
Level: 40
Equipment: Mostly equipment obtained from Evendim. (Oathesworn set, Annúminas reputation equipment)
Some skirmish equipment (Currently a level 40 Veteran Javelin)

9. YOUR ALTS, IF ANY
(as for main character)

Name: Ordain Hruban
Race: Man (Male)
Class: Captain
Level: 32
Equipment: Quest equips and level 31 Crit-crafted equipment

Several other alts, but currently they’re primarily place-holders or future alts so there are no specific details necessary for now.

10. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT TWA?

I became aware of TWA when members from Northwind Free Company began to migrate over.

11. DO YOU KNOW ANY CURRENT TWA MEMBERS?

I met Arathrandir and Nalorin when playing The Matrix Online.

12. ABOUT YOURSELF
(if you want to, please tell something about yourself in real life)

I’m not sure what I can say to introduce myself. I’m male despite my female main, I figure that should be clarified.
I wish to become a Forensic Psychologist and will begin studying at University in October. (Well barring some kind of catastrophic examination failure Big Grin)
I’m an avid Martial Artist, I like to keep fit etc.
I enjoy writing, particularly short stories and have a great interest in RP.
But most importantly I’m a laid back, fun loving guy. I like to think of myself as a friendly person and I’m sure that should my application be accepted you’ll get to know me much better than I could portray in a description of myself.

13. ABOUT YOUR MAIN

(even if you are not into role-playing, try to give a back story about your main character)

Due to spending many of her younger years in Falathlorn Dozuka is heavily influenced by the Elves she had lived alongside. From her fluency in Sindarin to an almost unparalleled admiration of the majesty of rivers, many of the characteristics of the Elves permeate through Dozuka’s personality.

However being born to the Race of Man, Dozuka was incapable of avoiding the call of her curiosity and thus as she matured she left Falathlorn behind and began her travels of Middle-Earth, accompanied only by the limited combat experience she had amassed due to the looming threat emitted by Rath Teraig. A born wanderer, Dozuka, now well-travelled, funds her journey through whatever method she can, rarely hesitating to offer her aid to various factions of the Free Peoples.

In her youth her fascination with water and need to survive resulted in a flair for fishing. Her time spent by the river Lune also allowed her to gain experience in docking, loading and unloading passing ships, in return the local Elves offered to cook what she caught and provided some shelter.

Her true origin remains a mystery to herself (She’s not a half-elf or a Maia, I promise!), the Elves of Falathlorn either unable or unwilling to disclose how she arrived in Celondim, though perhaps unwilling to admit it this is naturally one of the core sources of her curiosity.

Growing amongst the Elves highlighted the limits of her mortality and as such the virtue of patience passes her by. Frequent lapses of focus and a tendency to be distracted often lead to a concern about the time she perceives as squandered. This in turn manifests itself through a sense of panic leading to her rushing around in a state in which she is easily startled.

(I’ve attempted to convey Dozuka’s defining characteristics in an overview, however I don’t want her to be perceived as just “A man raised by Elves” and want to emphasize that I have no intention of her ‘mystery origin’ being anything grand that would influence Middle-Earth. She’s definitely not the heir to Isildur. She will be fleshed out to the best of my ability and will not be solely based around the “man raised by Elves” concept.)

14. I AM INTERESTED IN RAIDING

SOMEWHAT

(Explanation: Whilst I am very interested in both Raiding and Fellowship quests the amount of time I’m playing where I have unbroken concentration is limited due to me needing to alt-tab often. So whilst I have plenty of time for solo playing, the time I can play and people can depend upon me is more limited. This won’t impair my ability to take part in kinship chat.)

15. I AM INTERESTED IN FELLOWSHIP QUESTS

SOMEWHAT

(Explanation: See above)

16. I AM INTERESTED IN RP & RP EVENTS

A LOT

(Definitely interested in RP events, and I am slightly more inclined to reschedule things so that I can have full concentration for planned RP events than I am for planned raiding sessions)

IN CLOSING:

I understand that you’re not currently looking for Wardens to join your ranks, however I hope that should such a position open up in the future you’ll consider my application.

If you would like more information about me, my character or my application please don’t hesitate to contact me through this forum or through Dozuka in-game and I’ll answer anything I can.

Thanks for taking the time to read my application and hopefully I’ll see some of you in Middle-Earth

Welcome Targie, I am sure someone will get into contact with you soon ingame Smile

Just one thing: The one thing we are really not doing very much as a kin, though we respect and value it, and have several members that do, is RP. I just think this needs to be clarified so you know what you are applying for Smile

Good luck with the application!

Hej Targie, welcome back to the game and good luck with your application. Glad you applied Smile

What the Parm said about RP is true. However, I am still convinced that the kin only needs a critical mass of dedicated RPers to kick off the ignition. Most of the kin will happily join RP (or so I think), but it takes some effort to get something started in the first place. I think having an ale in the PP is not what most people consider serious RP (well, I don't).

Looking forward to see you in game soon.

Welcome to the forums Targie. Though recruitment is currently closed, obviously for an ex-NFC member an exception will be made, one of my officers will contact you soon, good luck.

Heya Ordain, nice to see you again. Smile

You'll find that The Western Alliance is in a lot of ways very different from NFC but also has a lot of similarities. Good luck with your application!

Thanks a lot for the positive response Smile

Regarding RP, that's not an issue. I'm content with the odd beer in the Pony (Though I will agree that it isn't 'serious RP') and I'll just add myself to that critical mass for the time being in addition to joining anything that comes along.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my application and I'll speak to you all soon. Smile
