Aldarich's Application

#1

1. NAME: Stuart

2. AGE: 25

3. COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE: England

4. TIMEZONE: GMT

5. PREVIOUS MMORPG EXPERIENCE: FFXI and WoW. (Still play WoW on and off)

6. PREVIOUS LOTRO EXPERIENCE:

I started about a year ago, only really started playing more frequently within the last few months.

7. HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF OTHER KINSHIPS:

I used to be in The Last Banner; A wonderfully good RP kin with many events. However, I am only a light RPer, and I find that sometimes it’s a little too much for my brain to handle. Don’t get me wrong, RP is great fun, but I feel I am more into the challenge of the game than RP.

8. YOUR MAIN CHARACTER:

I currently have Aldarich, a level 37 Captain who is being moulded into a strong buffer and healer, shying away from dps. I find that I am often capable of main healing small groups without trouble, and it’s getting easier with every heal-specific trait I learn. I hope to turn him into a capable off-healer for larger groups when he’s able.

9. YOUR ALTS, IF ANY:

The only alt I have is Flintlocke, a level 7 hunter, who I am currently levelling with one of my friends (also a level 7 hunter) when no one else is on. I must admit, it’s shocking how fast things die when we work together.

10. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT TWA?:

How didn’t I hear about it? Ask anyone on Laurelin about a kin to look for, and your name is always the first to be mentioned. Walk anywhere in Bree, and see TWA wandering all over the place in shiny sparkly armour in tight-knit groups. Look for people to help out on low level (high for me!) quests, and nearly always one of the people who reply are from TWA.

11. DO YOU KNOW ANY CURRENT TWA MEMBERS?:

The sheer number of TWA members I’ve seen around, and who have helped out, I must say I simply cannot remember them all, and It would be an injustice to mention some and not others. I do have the memories of some fun times though!

(But if you want the short version of that, then no, I don’t KNOW any, but I have certainly MET many. :3)

12. ABOUT YOURSELF:

I am a PC repair techie from Surrey in England. I’m currently working at a University, making sure the PCs are running correctly. Roughly translated, it means I berate students, complain about students, ban students, and just make most student’s lives hell. (But only when they break the rules, which, incidentally, is a lot.)

I joined LotRO with my current girlfriend Veronica (Sothywn). She’s a champion who is much more into RP than me, (but she loves that aspect of the game).

Over time I encouraged my best friend Andy (Kharrot, a Guardian), and Veronica’s best friend Gene (Pendros, a Lore Master) into the game. We now all have lifetime accounts, and once Pendros and Kharrot catch up to us, we will be doing more things in-game together. (We’re level 37, Kharrot is 32, and Pendros is 35.)

Also, Lore Masters level too dang fast. *grumblegrumble*

At home, I’m an average guy who loves to play videogames, have fun, eat stupidly unhealthy food, and all those other unhealthy things that make me into the man (read: slob) that I am.

13. ABOUT YOUR MAIN:

Alderich was born in the south western region of Rohan, In the small hamlet of Upbourn. His father is one of the advisors to one of the Lords of the area, and his mother is a loyal housewife, as most mothers are.

His parents both insisted that he study and learn, more than anything else, teaching and encouraging him to read. As he read more and more throughout the years, his knowledge increased, and he discovered he had an affinity for tactics and strategy. After going to his father expressing a great interest in the subject, he was quickly apprenticed to one of the local captains (with a little help from his father’s influence, of course.)

Alderich was surprised to find that captains actually spent a lot of time devising tactics and strategies at a table, rather than barking out orders all the time (as one would often see.) This worked much to his favour, and he quickly proved up to the task, occasionally assisting the captain himself with strategies to keep the lands of Rohan safe. A great honour indeed.

Having lived a relatively sheltered life, he had never ventured far outside the boarders of Rohan, nor had any real experience of battle, or commanding troops himself. Upon realising this, he requested he be allowed to venture far outside of Rohan, in search of himself and to gain some real world experience.

His parents weren’t thrilled by this news, but gave him their blessing regardless, knowing it was something he needed to do.

Whether it be fate or just pure coincidence, on his travels of Rohan he met up with Sothwyn, someone he’d met a few times before and knew through her brother. For whatever reason, she seemed to be determined to leave Rohan as well, and they decided to leave together.

14. I AM INTERESTED IN RAIDING:

A LOT! I am currently working on getting my character up to raiding level, but also have a commitment to my friends who are also playing with me. But once I’m there; definitely!

15. I AM INTERESTED IN FELLOWSHIP QUESTS: Absolutely! I love doing things together! It’s the whole point of an MMO.

16. I AM INTERESTED IN RP & RP EVENTS: Have to say ‘Somewhat’ here. It is certainly fun to do RP in game, but in small doses. I tend to RP only when the mood strikes me.

Greetings Aldarich,

Many thanks for the application, I'm certain we will accept you application with open arms.  I must say, from a personal point of view, it will be nice to have another raiding captain in the kinship once you're at level 50.

You'll be shocked to learn that I am writing this with greasy fingers whilst eating McDonalds at my desk - I remember fondly my days of "no food food in the labs please!" when I used to help the undergrads with their lab sessions.  :vh1:

Just grab any officer in game next time you're on and I'm sure they'll be able to invite you straight in for your initiation period.

Thanks for all the nice replies!

I will try to get hold of an officer next time I'm online.

Incidently, that may not be straight away, as my GF is currently over in england (she's American) and staying with me until her course at Sheffield Uni starts. She managed to get a placement over here (yay!) So currently, she occupies my time.

But should I have any time free, I'll make it a point to hop online and have a good ol' chat with ya! Smile

Welcome and thankyou for an excellent application! I am currently the captain eldar, but only for the next week or so as our elections are under way at the moment, so if i can catch up with you at some point this week great ... if not please feel free to grab any other officer to get your initiation underway. I hope to see you in kinchat soon!
