Fodegar

#1

The Minstrel walked slowly through Michels Delving, not really noticing the other hobbits around him.
He seemed lost in though, even to the point where he ignored the piece of pie he held in his hand.
"Hey, Fodegar!"
Fodegar stopped and looked up when he heard his name.
"Why hello, Othis", he said while smiling, although the smile did not really reach his eyes, "what's up?"
"I just wanted to hear if you plan to play at the Dragon tonight?".
"No, not tonight, Othis. I have some things I need to do away from the Shire. It might be some time before I play at the Dragon again."
"oh...". Othis looked very disappointed. "But, but...."
Fodegar patted his friend on the shoulder.
"No need to panick, Othis. I am sure you will hear music at the Dragon, even with me not there. You will do fine without an old minstrel like me."
Together the two hobbits walked for a while in silence.
"What is it you need to do, Fodegar?"
"Well, you know me. Always looking for trouble."
When Othis' face wrinkled up in concern, Fodegar laughed and smiled. "No, I just need to visit my elven friends in Rivendell. No need to worry."
"I see...hopefully you will come back with some new songs to sing then."
"I hope so, Othis. I hope so."
The two hobbits have each other a hug and Othis headed for The Green Dragon Inn, while Fodegar stood and looked at him.
When Othis went out of sight, he sighed. "Lying to your friends, Fodegar, what will be the next...?" , he mumbled to himself while shaking his head and continuing down the road. "But no need to have them worry about me. They are better of thinking I am in Rivendell, that off fighting evil in Angmar. "
With those words to himself, Fodegar went out to seek new companions to join him in the fight against evil.

Fodegar, lvl 50 minstrel is looking for a new kinship to join.
So far I have been in a very small kinship consisting of friends that played together. That small group of friends have thinned out to the point where it makes no sense to keep the kinship alive. Basically me and one more, who hasn't logged in for 6 weeks. So I find myself without of a kinship. I have read up on kinships on the forum, and The Western Alliance sounds like the kind of kinship that would suit me fine.
I would like to get to know you and see if we match. I am almost certain that we do, but choosing a kinship is not something I take lightly, so I like the fact that you have a trial period. I see that not only as a chance for you to get to know me, but also for me to get to know you.

In real life I am 38 years old, live in Denmark and work as a test-manager when I am not playing Lotro ;o) I have a family that I love to spend time with, so I do not put oceans of time into Lotro. But I am online 4-5 days a week, ranging from an hour to 5-6 hours at a time. (orlonger on weekends when the family does not need me)

I hope you are interested in getting to know me and if you are please contact me in-game.

Fodegar welcome to our forum.

First I would like to say, great aplication! I think you really captured the hobbit essence.
You sound like the kind of person that would fit in fine indeed, we do have another member living in Denmark (though he is dutch himself)
and plenty of other members from the continent. Also we have now quite a few 'family guys' in our kinship so rest assured everyone understands the demands of real life.

We strife to bring our members all facets of the game and have been striving to bring both our RP and grouping for quests/instances to a higher level, I wont lie and say that a lvl 50 Minstrel wouldnt be greatly valuable in achieving this.
Most of our members are online in the afternoon and evenings but we have members online nearly any moment of the day so finding someone to talk to atleast should not be a problem. I doubt you will feel lonely atleast.

Me or one of the other officers will be in contact with you shortly, but I urge you to seek out Garbo, our minstrel leader (atleast until this weeks election, you come at an exiting time). The minstrel leader will eventually decide if you pass or not.

Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!
Fell deeds awake, fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

Another Minstrel!

*almost wets himself, then gathers himself together again.*

A fine application Fodegar, and I look forward to meeting you in-game.  I myself have a wife and two young daughters, so it's great to have yet another family man around the place.  I'm sure you'll find us a good match with your playing habits, and there's always people around to group up with.  It generally easy to find a full fellowship with the kinship each evening should you so desire, and if you're interested in some of the end-game raid content, we are part of a raiding alliance that now regularly attacks The Rift.  Quite a few members are into the RP side of the game and there's often things going on that you can get involved with.
