1. IRL NAME: Alexander William Shackles
IGN: Cyrilbor (Cyrilgar on other servers); pronounced SEE-rill-bore.

2. AGE: 21

3. COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE:  United States

4. TIMEZONE:  Pacific Standard Time (-8:00 GMT)

5. PREVIOUS MMORPG EXPERIENCE:  Other than my previous LotRO experience (see below), I've not delved into other MMORPGs.  And when I have attempted to, they have been altogether unable to catch my attention long enough to warrant playing them for an extended period of time.

6. PREVIOUS LOTRO EXPERIENCE:  I've been playing off and on since about 2010.  Having long since forgotten my account information during my last hiatus from LotRO, I've created this one to enjoy the game again.  For the last month or so, I've been playing on Silverlode, but I feel it is time to stretch my legs and see what the other servers have to offer (particularly those that hold some emphasis on actually roleplaying; on Silverlode PvMP during a particularly good moment where the creeps actually stood a chance against the freeps, I was booted from a group for mentioning/roleplaying in jest that I'd not had as much fun as I'd been having then since the burning of the Westfold).

7. HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF OTHER KINSHIPS?
Yes.  I'm currently a member of a kinship on Silverlode called The Lords of the Lone Lands.  As varied and colorful as the players are, I've had my share of frustrating and poor experiences with both the kin and the server, and am likely to leave both for greener pastures.

8. YOUR MAIN CHARACTER:  Cyrilbor is my main character at the moment, if only because I haven't any others to speak of.  Currently, I believe he is a level 8 male Lore Master with rather poor equipment.  But he has potential.  Given time, he will prove to be a powerful ally, and certainly a master of his craft.

9. YOUR ALTS, IF ANY:  None to speak of at the moment.

10. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT TWA?
I was looking for a kinship to join, and came across a post regarding the kinship in one of the forums for the server.

11. DO YOU KNOW ANY CURRENT TWA MEMBERS?
None at the moment.

12. ABOUT YOURSELF:  I spend my days at a computer, working transcription and playing video games.  Despite my outward appearance being roughly that of an ogre with a fairer skin tone, I pride myself on being courteous to others, having gained and continuing to gain, wisdom beyond my years.  I also have a beard that has been described as epic (though, I feel it still has a long way to go before I can rival the hardiest of dwarves).

13. ABOUT YOUR MAIN:  Cyrilbor was an elf that knew early on he was different from others.  To him, the world was one vast playground, and he wanted to see it all.  Even as a child, his mother could scarcely find a means of containing his wanderlust, so she would often have him gather herbs for the cooking and wood for the fire.  With soft, nimble feet, he would go out, frolicking in the woods of Mirkwood alone to collect all that the world had to offer, often staying out long after the sun had set in the west.  His mind was not to worry about the shadows creeping through the darkness, or those sounds that would chill the blood of men.  Not through lack of imagination, of course; Cyrilbor certainly could weave a tale of adventure when he let his mind drift to thoughts of far away lands.  He merely sensed that, no matter what happened, he still had things to do before his time ended, and no power in the whole of Middle Earth could stop him from seeing these things come to pass.

In time, and through his travels, he learned the art of smithing, collecting ore and refining it down to the purest of metal.  He made a name for himself among the dwarves, who would purchase the forged steel his hands had crafted as they passed through to the east.  It was one of these dwarves who suggested that he learn of the rarer and stronger metals of the western lands, and not long after that that his bags were packed and horse saddled up for Ered Luin, where he would be able to test his craft against the most learned and wise smiths of Thorin's Hall, stopping at the inns of the villages and towns along the way to inquire about a good night's rest, a fine stout ale, and perhaps a bite of the local salted pork.

14. I AM INTERESTED IN RAIDING: A lot.

15. I AM INTERESTED IN FELLOWSHIP QUESTS: Somewhat.

16. I AM INTERESTED IN RP & RP EVENTS: A lot.

Thank you.

Also, as I know it will be brought up at some point, I realize that (save for extenuating circumstances) you have to be level 30 to join the kin.  I'm not expecting to be accepted into the kinship right away.

However, I merely ask that you give me a few days before rejecting my application.

Like everyone, there is more than meets the eye.  Give me a chance to surprise you.

Hi Cyrilbor, welcome to the forums.
Just 2 quick points I think I should mention. While some of our members actively RP and we encourage and support it, we don't organise dedicated RP events as a kin so maybe something for you to think about. Smile
As for the level 30 marker, I'm sure you'll reach that in no time at all so why not just post back here then and we can continue with your app!

Cheers,

Eres

Hello Eres,

Thank you for welcoming me to the forums.  To address your two points, it's quite all right if the kin itself isn't centered around roleplaying in its purest form.  This being my first real foray into what could be deemed roleplaying (save for a few games of D&D with some friends from school a few back), I must admit that I'm rather new to the idea.  I'd merely be grateful to be with people who can enjoy the lore of Tolkien nearly or as much as I do.  But that's more of an expectation of the server, not the kin; the kin just seems like a pleasant, helpful community of people that I would like to be a part of.
And thank you for the idea of posting back here once I've reached the level marker.  I do hope no one minds if I still peruse the forums a little bit when I'm not busy working or gaming, as I would very much like to learn more about the kin if I'm to be a part of it.

Ta,

Cyrilbor

Ola!

I'll just give you a waiver for the level requirement so we can invite you right away. Smile

;D

Thank you kindly, Belegwe.  I'd certainly appreciate it.  Though, I won't be able to actually join the kin for a few hours at least.  I've still quite a lot of work left to do (old men discussing the benefits of tactile response in prosthetic limbs, what a treat!), so pardon me if I'm unable to log into the game at the moment.

See you all soon!

Not a problem! Just give an officer a shout if you see them online or we will contact you, whichever comes first. Smile
