Meth's application

#1

Well, I know the captain class is restricted at the moment, but I thought I might venture an application anyway just in case!  I get lonely, you see, and I kinda miss the blue chat channel.  As I’m the only person in my current kin, the one-sided conversations get a bit boring.  (I never lose an argument though.)

Anyway, here we go for my (re) application!

1. NAME
Rich (Richard Geary)

2. AGE
32

3. COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE
UK

4. TIMEZONE
GMT / BST

5. PREVIOUS MMORPG EXPERIENCE
9 months of World of Warcraft, on Moonglade (RP) many years ago.  (I played a Dwarf hunter and was in a guild called “Ebon Flame”.)

6. PREVIOUS LOTRO EXPERIENCE
Since open beta, with just one 4-5 month break around the time of the Mirkwood launch.

7. HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF OTHER KINSHIPS?
No.  Well, not unless you count the self-titled kinship ‘Methrendomir’, so named simply so it says “Home of Methrendomir” over my house when you visit.  (Incidentally, I never intended for my main to become a member of that kin – it does look rather vain, does it not!)  The thought “if I can’t be kinship leader of TWA I’m going to create a new kinship all on my own and be kinship leader of that muahahahahaha” didn’t enter my mind at all, oh no.

I guess it’s not a ‘kinship’ as such, but I was also a member of the Silver Blades raiding alliance, until it folded last year, and, for a time, was a member of the ‘Blades of the North’ token kinship (which was simply a “holding kin” for kinless Silver Blades that didn’t want to be spammed with “join my kin plxplxplxplxplx” /tells.)

8. YOUR MAIN CHARACTER
Methrendomir, Captain, level 65.  Full (new) Helegrod set and Watcher set, 5/6 DN set (no DG or “Update 2” armour).  Reasonable jewellery.  Full virtues.  Guilded cook and willing to donate food to kinchests.

9. YOUR ALTS, IF ANY
Elorien, lvl 65 hunter (not played since I hit 65, rubbish equipment).  Methrendriel, lvl 51 Lore-master, guilded scholar (but lacks best morale / power pot recipes, as she’s a bit low to earn Lothlorien rep, and I’ve totally forgotten how to play her.)

10. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT TWA?
Ummm...

11. DO YOU KNOW ANY CURRENT TWA MEMBERS?
Yup, as a member of fotw I regularly group with many people from TWA.  There’s a few good old friends from years ago around as well, both from TWA and Silver Blades.

12. ABOUT YOURSELF
I’m a software engineer from Bromyard in Herefordshire, specialising in route planning and vehicle scheduling web services.  I’m married with two daughters, 6 and 5 years old.  I’m treasurer of Brockhampton Pre-school, which my wife runs. I like, as well as lotro, walks in the countryside; bird spotting (CASUAL bird spotting – I’m not a “twitcher”); have a passing interest in Egyptology; and am a keen watcher of Formula One racing.

13. ABOUT YOUR MAIN
I’m going to be lazy, and just give a linky to: http://www.thewesternalliance.org/index.php?board=18.0

14. I AM INTERESTED IN RAIDING
I’m not a hardcore raider any more – I simply don’t have time for it.  I do, however, enjoy the odd expedition, so I’d probably make myself available on standby from time to time, once in a blue moon.  I know you have plenty of raid-ready captains and this class is restricted for applications, so would never assume to take the place of an existing raiding captain.  With this in mind, hopefully it wouldn’t strain the kinship class balance too much?

15. I AM INTERESTED IN FELLOWSHIP QUESTS
Definitely.  PUGs are generally awful.

16. I AM INTERESTED IN RP & RP EVENTS
I’m a bit of a passive role player.  I love being on a role-playing server, but for me it’s more a case of not wanting to see people discussing real world issues in /say, and passing the time of day in character, rather than hardcore role playing.  However, I have been known to come along to a few RP events and even have organised a couple in the distant past.  And I did write that back story above, I guess.

hehe, hi Tazetta and Brenn.  Yup, Herefordshire does seem to have that reputation for inbreeding, or so the Worcestershire people would say.  Luckily, my parents are from Kent and Somerset, so I don't need to worry about that  :king:

I know a few people from Malvern through my work, and often pop over for drinking evenings and poker, and just occasionally take the family for a walk up the hills - it's a lovely place.  In fact, I'm off there on Saturday evening for a poker and Eurovision night.  Probably be drinking games.  "Down your pint when Greece and Cyprus give each other 12 points again" and that kinda thing.  Laugh hysterically at anyone who appears to be taking Eurovision seriously.
