I had been thinking of doing Kendo earlier, but isn't it incredibly expensive to maintain?

It can be expensive to start with, when it comes to buying armour and the uniform, but after that it depends how much you travel to events and competitions, for me it breaks the bank every year I travel all the time and train for 2 weeks every year in Japan.
