I'm baffled... they made this kinda cryptic imo...

Edit: So... they release two things: Mirkwood expansion, and Mirkwood adventure pack...? Each costs 19.99, if you pre-order you get a cloak (the mount you get no matter when you buy it), am I right?

I'm glad they have some offers going for SoM but it still marks a shift in their free content between expansions policy that was so well received throughout SoA. Will have to see where they go with this, I wouldn't be surprised if we were paying for single book patches by Rohan. I get the feeling that their playerbase in general is in steady decline, and this at least goes some way to keeping the money flowing in, but I wish they'd focus on retaining their players more. How? I have no idea! But I don't wanna see this game go down the pan.

Skirmishes are still sounding awesome, I just wish there was more information on them in the diary there. They've had some serious (negative) feedback in response to their continued support for radiance gates with even the guys really into the lore aspect of the game jumping in with some really great arguments againt them. The mount changes are really something I expected to see at the very beginning of the game - I got quite a shock when I had to dismount just to hand in a quest - but now that they're being "fixed" I'm happy as larry about that.

I kinda feel saddened by this as well...

But I think payed expansions is their way of "fighting" lifetime subscribers...
40$ isn't the end for me, so I have no problems with this, but students might think otherwise Sad

But the day this game ends, I'll be really sad, as all other games were a fictional world Tolkiens world is kinda more "real", and to be able walk around in it, is a very special feeling Smile

I do though think, that they ought to delete/combine some zones... when you can ride from one end of Angmar to the other, without seeing any players, it's just plain wrong.
Now they add even more material, but not more players, which will stretch out people even more...
Maybe make an xp bonus according to how many is online in your level range... that would make leveling up easier.

So if I pre-order do I get SoM and Adventurer’s Pack for $19.99 or is it still $39.99 in total?

Off-topic: could someone go on mumble so I can check my settings?

Don't forget this is for North American customers. I don't believe they have said whether it will be the same for those outside the US and Canada. Alot of forum posts asking if it is the same for EU and Australian customers and so far no reply.

I believe that Australians play on US servers, so this will be exactly the same for them. As for EU, we'll have to wait for Codes' official announcement.

If the Adventurers pack comes to EU I'll buy that just for the two extra character slots! Big Grin

So, Guess I'll be back around December time Tongue

Paying for expansions is one thing, but (not-so-) micro payments for extra game perks like some extra storage space and an in-game item?!  This is a slippery slope  :'(

A very slippery slope... just as Castamere said, comes as a bit of surprise after all the initial talk about free-content updates in between expansions. That was one of the factors that really convinced me that not all MMOs are a complete waste of cash... Wink

Like me!! Sad

Druth, sounds to me that if you pre-order just the Adventurer's Pack, you get the Harbinger’s Cloak which provides 8% speed boost and the Dusky Nimblefoot Goat mount (it exclaims "for FREE", suggesting that you get the cloak and mount as a reward for pre-ordering).

If you buy the Pack as a bundle with Siege of Mirkwood, you get a new mount as an added reward (for ordering both simultaneously).

If you just digitally download the pack, and buy Mirkwood separately, you get nothing other than the original contents of the Pack (no goat, no cloak, no new mount).
I is in ur Fellowships, stealing ur threats.
