Recruitment Application for Lamonti of Thorin's Hall

#1

Here follows a request of Kinship from Lamonti, Guardian Dwarf of Thorin's Hall with 32 campaigning
summers behind him.

A dwarf acts only when he's sure of his actions, see? And a Dwarf Guardian even more so...
we hold the shield for our kin, with our bodies and our blood we keep the darkness at bay.
We do this so that decisions can be made by our venerable elders under the light of
wisdom and knowledge; not through the whimsical divinations of elf-kind or the impatience of manlings do the dwarfs
act, for there leads the path of folly.

You see, the dwarfs are the mountains they live in, and a mountain with solid foundations is both unmovable
and workable, and as any visit to Moria will show even the most ale-addled hobbit, a workable mountain can be
a most wonderous thing.

So we've watched, and we've waited, and we now know how to strike to best effect. My first act therefore is to join your alliance,
to train alongside the other peoples of Middle Earth, some known in years past as either friend or foe, to learn better how alongside them I can best use my shield to cast back the encroaching darkness, or better yet, eradicate it as surely as a newly lit forge
banishes shadow from an armourer's hold.

So what are we waitin' for? I've said what needs said and the time for talk is at an end. My axe grows thirsty and I'm surely wanting to build
a thirst of my own.... let's get out there and kill something!

<OOC>

Pahhhh... you'll get to know me in-game. But I do mainly enjoy armour-clad practical classes in games such as these,
and there's been quite a few games. DAoC veteran of 5 years with a paladin main, and about 15 alts - don't ask. Was co-founder of the largest
light RP guild (for a while the largest guild on the server with about 150 members - too big to be honest) on Prydwen server of that game, The Order of the Knights Templar, and know a good few players in LOTRO from that time, and a few close guilds including Griffon Knights and Phoenix Legion. Today though I just wanna be a grunt!

Nothin' but respect for anyone that would want to lead and organise a guild, it can be a thankless task, but rest assured I'm getting too long in the tooth to be rocking any boats. I'm here to support, and don't want any more input to the politics of a Kinship than a grunt should have.

Welcome Lamonti *grins*

((I am also a DAOC vet, though I played on Hibernia Igraine as a firby druid!)) Had some really great times in that game, my guild Horizon wasn't as large as yours but we did quite well nonetheless *smiles* ))

Is nice having you on board, (even if another dwarf!)

Welcome to the Kinship,

Ive run a few guilds and it isnt an easy task with all the politics that go on. It was good grouping with you last night and hope to do so many more times.

Together we will form the wall of flesh and metal between the enemies and our kinship friends.

Welcome to the Kinship Lamonti!  I look forward to getting to know you in-game.  (I'll try to refrain from calling you Norman and talking politics :o)
