Greetings to The Western Alliance!

I am a recent convert from Neverwinter Nights (Although I do still occasionally play & DM on our server that I have been a member of for well over 5 years) who is presently deeply immersed into LOTRO, thanks to a very good friend of mine from Greece... hence one of the reasons I play on a European server and not a US one.  Although I do play at strange & sometimes limited times and 90% of that played solo.. there is a point that every gamer comes to where finding like souls to run amok with is a welcomed desire.. and after reading more several posts on the Codemasters forums, I was impressed by your site.

Now to the deed at hand:

My main & first character is Belmoira.  She is currently a level 33 Elven hunter who is wandering about Esteldin, exploring, vanquishing many enemies of the lands, getting herself into a situation or three and having to visit the dreaded circle of stones... shrugging it off and going for much deserved revenge (whether she is successful or not!)!  I do have 4 more characters who I equally enjoy playing but there is that extra 5% more for that first character. :-)  I do have names, classes & vocations that I put in my signature.

Belmoira tends to be a quiet young elf, she constantly watches her surroundings, drinking in first.. the lands, the forests, the seemingly endless sights and sounds of nature that she comes across.  Unfortunately such pristine environments are marred by the evils of the land and her anger at such foes for ruining the perfection of the land has her scouting and working on her dream to make Middle Earth a once more peaceful and safe land, and to go back home.  She was born in Mirkwood, but for her safely was taken from her homeland to Ered Luin where she grew in skills with her bow, her tracking as well as woodworking.  She has great pride in the bows that she has made and used... they have served her well.

She made her way to the human town of Bree, not that she was unhappy in Ered Luin, but she felt a calling, to explore the lands.  The Shire, Bree-Land, Lone Lands, Eriador, Trollshaws and the legendary Rivendell.  She has learned many skills, has accomplished many deeds and is currently assisting the Rangers of Esteldín.  As she is coming to lands that seem to be more overrun with evil, she feels the need to find companions.. not only for the reassurance of seeing a friend in a land of foes.. but to offer her skills in tracking and her ability with her bow or crossbow.  She remembers a saying that her guardian once said as she gathered her belongings to venture out in the world.. 'Remember Belmoira.. you may feel superior in your skills.. but you are far from it.  There will always be someone better, stronger, wiser.. but there will always be someone in need.  Search well and you shall find them.'

Now for a bit of the OCC...

I am one of those 'Old Kids', I first got into D&D in the late 70's, was involved with the SCA in the early 80's, got back into AD&D with my little brother, did Free-Form RP in hmm 1991-ish? with a group of folks on the Yahoo Sci-Fi chat channel (where I have been emaleth-of-donnelaith ever since.. or variations of the name) and one day a fellow RP'er suggested I get the game Neverwinter Nights.  Hooked!  I bought the expansions when they came out, joined a forum of a great group of folks at the Amazon Basin, found the NWN players, joined a server in 2003 and have played ever since.  I did a bit of DI & DII, but never online, bought, played & became Grandmaster of House Hlaalu & Grandmaster of the Morag Tong with Morrowind, played Dungeon Siege and one day my good friend from Greece mentioned that he bought a founders subscription for LOTRO.  Intriqued as well as a huge fan of the books and still claiming that Peter Jackson did a heck of a job with the movies (Yes, lol, I do have the collectors edition!) as well as 3 sets & many, many other books of Tolkien to go with my.. hmm not even sure how many books I have, much less fantasy genre, I asked how he liked it and after the first few sentences I was already at Amazon looking to buy the game.

Unfortunately at the time I did not know there were two separate clients, and after great help from Codemasters, bought another game, joined Laurelin to play with my friend and here I am.  I tend to play at odd times, hence playing mostly with people from across the pond.  I am a very early riser and tend to jump online at 3:30-ish EST before I leave for work.  If I have time and are able to get home in enough time during the week, then I might jump online to do some crafting or finish a quest I had started, etc.  You'd think after working 9-10 hours a day the last thing you would want to do is do more work..lol, but I enjoy crafting.  Always have, even with NWN.

What I like are too many to put down, so will make it easier and just put dislikes.  I don't care for PvP, I think mainly due to everytime I have ever tried a PvP server, there is always one player (or more) who ruins things (a level 40 player griefing a lowly level 2.. *shakes head*), and honestly I have never had the desire to PvP (heh heh must be the passive part of me) even if everyone Played With Class or otherwise.  Just not my cup of tea and will never want to get into that part of gaming.  I do hope that is not a prerequisite here...

And although I have designed and played in Munchkin Mode on NWN, with good players can be loads of fun, I do enjoy being able to use my skills in a group and going slow paced (took me well over two years to get just to our level 27 cap!).  And the last RP only server I was a player on, although there were fantastic RP'ers there, playing in big groups with no apparent leader and everyone flying off in 7 different directions with no goal, or wanting to get to the loot first and/or drawing everything to the rest of the group when they are not prepared is not a fun time to me.

RL stats:  I am Kathy, a young-at heart 45 year old from Michigan, US.  I am an avid book reader, ranging from Fantasy, Horror (Brian Lumley fan & forum member too), Mythology, Poetry, Epics, of course the Classics.. range is huge... except Romance  lol, could never stomach those books for some reason.  I enjoy music from my passion for Classical & Baroque to Oldies, Classic Rock (60's & 70's), Metal Opera groups like Virgin Steele (where Emalaith is named from), Rhapsody, Dreams of Sanity, & Ethnic music, Rebetiko, Celtic, etc. I also enjoy watching films, currently in foreign mode watching Norweigan, Chinese & Japanese films.. with subtitles!  I do not own a cell phone, have cable or even watch tv for that matter, meh, why do that when you have a DVD drive on your computer?.  I do not care for Religion or Politics.. which is hard when the rest of the family are Bush-ites!  We won't even go there ok? :-)  I am a very passive, open minded & friendly person, I do not judge people but I have to say I do enjoy my little keychain with the caption 'Too bad Ignorance isn't painful!'.

I do enjoy Roleplaying, but I am not one to be 'in the mode' all the time either.  I watch & read what others in the group say.. tactics or otherwise, so other than my hobbit, my others may not be very vocal.  Most comes from not being able to walk, type and watch the screen at the same time heh heh, and speaking of typing.. I do have a little gremlin I like to call 'Hnrey the Typo-Demon'.  He seems to follow me everywhere I go, whether in a game, an OpenOffice document or in the search box of the Wiki... so I have come to accept him into my life.  And just a warning :-)  With him I can be contagious and make others around me type the same.

So in short, albeit after reading everything here and thinking.. 'short?!' heh heh, if your Kinship could use two hunters, a loremaster, a champion and a very friendly hobbit burgler... my alter-ego's are at your service!

Thank you in advance for your consideration of my characters.

Greetings, Emaleth.

An interesting application. You wouldn't be our first American member, but one thing I couldn't quite work out is whether you are currently located on the European or the American side of the Atlantic. Not that it makes any difference to your application, but you should keep in mind that the great majority of our group adventuring, including all raiding, tends to take place between the hours of 6.00 pm and midnight, UK time.

I will look out for Belmoira in-game for a chat.

Well Met and thank you for the greetings.

I do live in the US and on Eastern Standard Time.  I use Firefox and have a handy little clock add-on that shows currently for my time of 8:45 am that it is 1:45 pm in the UK.  So 5 hours ahead give or take could have me online easily in the weekend afternoons for any runs that may be planned unless one of my staff is out and I have to cover a weekend shift at work. Heh eh the joys of management.  And when I am able to pop online after work I would be able to have an hour or so (I limit myself to no later than 8 pm of gametime or I am a wreck the next day!)  to assist with any adventures.  I have not yet had any raiding experience, so that is very new to me, and I still am working on getting out of NWN mode and learning all the LOTRO game plays... as far as knowing where quickslots are, what the 3 P's are: Preparation, Provisions & Planning I need to have.

Weekday mornings I tend to do more crafting as I try not to commit myself into doing anything that I would not be able to finish before having to head out to work.  Shall be making another pot then will grab Belmoira since I have some free time.
