Fresh layout

I also get the 'empty' space above the menu bar. Good place for a banner if we can get one.

There is also quite a gap between the forum posts and the boxes on the side (TWAtter etc). I'd suggest moving the boxes closer to the centre, thus creating a 'border' around the edge of the page, or increasing the size of the boxes to maximise use of space.

Appealing colour tones! I like the interface, but I have encountered some serious problems on mobile devices with using the touch functionality of the top menu bar. Also main page images do not render.

On the forum home, the bright orange text on the light silver bars (public forums, member forums etc) is rather harsh to look at. Perhaps a dark grey text colour? Or adjust the colours of the bars and the text to tie in with the menu bar.

I know! Haven't found a decent spot for it yet... and it's a pretty resource-intensive thing so I don't want to stick it on every page like TWAtter.

I guess the mumble feed either goes on the forum home, or gets a page to itself.

Also, we need links to 'useful information'. Things like the mumble guide, kin rules and constitution need a new home.

Some changes:

- Updated the mobile theme... (forgot that one last night, so you only saw an earlier version). Ought to be much more screen-space-efficient and usable with touchscreens. Pay attention to the arrow-button at the top! I'm curious how it works on a tablet as I don't have one to test with.

- Ring-ranks are back.

- Made the black bar at the top somewhat smaller, could put a banner there if you want, but bear in mind that it's permanently on screen (doesn't scroll).

- Made TWAtter & co slightly wider

Good point about the black bar Inga. If it's static it may not be the best place for a banner. Is it possible to get rid of the black completely?

Edit: Just refreshed my browser. TWAtter & co look much better now.

I have to say it makes me smile looking at the revamped website.  It gives me a positive feeling that TWA has a long and prosperous future as an MMO gaming community!

I would just like to echo Thors thanks to everybody that has contributed their time, talents and ideas to the new look!

I dont think it needs to be a full banner, just a very thin something to fill in the gap a bit, even if it just says The Western Alliance in gold or something

First of all, warmest congratulations to everyone who worked on  this. An unmitigated success, and by far and away the most impressive guild/kinship forum I've ever seen.

A couple of suggestions for the "GAMES" section, if they aren't too difficult to implement at this stage:
1. Can we include those very nice graphic banners running along the top of each game page?
2. How about dividing each game page horizontally into two sections; the top one can be for information about the game, including a description, review, tactics etc., and the bottom one devoted to the game-specific forum. That way the raw information will always be easily available, rather than lost among the forum conversations.

And could we please also have a page for The Secret World? I know only very few of us play the game atm, but we might have more in future, and I would also like to recruit some of the people I play with into the kinship - inviting them to see the forum would be clincher!

Easily done, and done it is. Changed TSW from a child-board to a full fledged board of its own in the Games Forum (unless there are any objections).
As for dividing game pages horizontally, that might be a bit tricky. We could create a simpleportal block for each board but I think the easier solution is to create a sticky on each game board with all the relevant info. In fact I think that should become a priority.
