Application - Jhaekeb Culevin

#1

Hail to the Western Alliance

Jhaekeb Culevin (Strongbow - in Westron) is a L45 Hunter from the Eastern eaves of Mirkwood. A brave and fearless skulker in the woods, Jhaekeb has travelled far to learn the ways of the mysterious Dunedain. Currently to be found in the Misty Mountains, and fresh from victory over Skorgrim the Dourhand, Jhaekeb is ready to forego the lonely existence of the Hunter, and join with other foes of Sauron in the fight against evil. Jhae is a Tier 5 Forester and Woodworker, and despite his looks (and a terrible line in campfire jokes and tales) is a friendly and companiable adventurer.

OOC - I am a lifelong gamer from the old RP days of AD&D and RuneQuest, through Baldurs Gate and Morrowind to the nirvana of Lotro (my first MMORPG). I am a huge LOTR books fan, steeped in the lore of John Ronald. I play mainly in the pms, with occasional evenings and weekend sessions. I have a few low level alts, but Jhae is my first and main character.

I humbly submit myself to your good favour.

Gimli: Oh come on, we can take 'em.  Aragorn: It's a long way. Gimli: Toss me. Aragorn: What? Gimli: I cannot jump the distance, you'll have to toss me.
[pauses, looks up at Aragorn] Gimli: Don't tell the elf. Aragorn: Not a word.

That was an impressive app.

Baldurs Gate by the way is the pinnacle of all RPG's. I just wish that was in MMORPG format, not the poor setting they used in Dungeons and Dragons online. I'd love to stomp around Faerun and bump into Minsc!

Don't forget Planescape: Torment !

And good luck with your app.

kinsmen die,
likewise, you will die;
but the name
will never die,
of one who has done well.

Cattle die,
kinsmen die,
likewise, you will die;
one I know
that never dies:
the fame of each one dead."

Thank you all for your kind welcome - I look forward to a long and dangerous association with you all.

Aaah Baldurs Gate 2 - what an awesome plotline. I always remember saving a village from wolves, and the villagers built statues of all my party in the main square. Coolest bit of personalisation I ever saw. I think Lotro could do with some more of the decision making quests - the quests are all linear - do this get that... - you dont get a chance to build the soul/conscience/alignment of your character - very American! Totally agree that an on-line Baldurs would be awesome.

I never played Planescape - so many games and so little time - I am sure I would be a multi-millionaire if I never discovered fantasy gaming. Oh well - back to the lavatory cleaning....
