Barad Guldur 12-man raid and DOME alliance

#1

Following in-forum debate, Lakeborn initiated conatct with DOME about joint exploratory raids on Bard Guldur. I subsequently added the more detailed proposal, below, and Falovir has responded positively on behalf of DOME. All kinship members interested in this raid should probably sign up to access the DOME forums (http://dome.thetroubleshooters.dk/phpBB3...ec9f9c38ea), as DOME have been invited to sign up on ours. The proposal I posted was:

"Greetings, friends and allies. In support of Lakeborn's post, and in my role as the Western Alliance's raids officer, I would like to propose that during the exploratory phase of the Barad Guldur 12-man raid, TWA and DOME members be given equal priority in signing up for raids. Irrespective of which kinship initiates the raid and provides the raid leader (who may not necessarily be the initiator), signups will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, always of course with the proviso that the raid leader may make changes for the good of the raid. This status will continue until the end of the exploratory phase or until one of the parties decides to terminate it, whichever comes first; after that, and for farming runs, we revert to the normal status of kinship members having priority over non-kinship. Is this acceptable to you?

We plan to run a first BG raid about a week from now; to sign up, you will have to gain access to the TWA boards (see above). Please also take the trouble of adding a brief post to the raid thread. Thank you for the hospitality, and I look forward to the Master of Dol Guldur biting the dust before the joint assault of our two distinguished kinships in the not too distant future..."

And Falovir's response:
"I will post a mail to DOME during the weekend in regards to this so i can try and get some feedback on the thoughts of this. I personally think co operating is a excellent idea to learn the early stages while other kin members get kitted out in the future."

Ok, this sounds good to me. I have registered with DOME webby and will sign for any DG raids posted.
If by life or death I can save you, I will.

"You see, there's this thing called aggro."
"What's aggro?"
"It's a very complicated, very technical roleplaying expression. Loosely translated, it means 'the healer dies'."

What do you think about trying BG on a saturday, which might give us a window of 6 hours to try instead of a rushy 3 hours on a weeknight?

Six hours! Well, that aside... previous attempts at raiding on Saturdays haven't quite worked out. I'm open for anything, however...

Madness! After those 3 hours I'm quite done with Barad Guldur for at least a day...

Nope. Far from it. Very softcore. Actually, not even core... just soft. Wink

My six-hour raiding nights were left behind together with 'that game', way back when.
