Inflation in Upgrade 5 - Kairos - 28 Nov, 11

If the following currency conversion table is correct (lifted from Bullroarer), then the price of the four non-raid pieces of Draigoch armour will go up significantly at the update. So if you are still short of any of these pieces, get cracking with raid skirmishes and get your S4Ms in time to complete the set! Personally, though nothing has been said about them yet, I plan to sink any spare S4Ms I have into legacy upgrade scrolls before the update.

New Currency Conversion Rate [B2]
    At Skirmish Camp :
    1 S4M = 2 Seals
    1 S4M = 50 Medallions
    1 Seal = 2 Medallions
    1 Medallion = 3 Marks

    Draigoch Armour
    Live : 30/18 (S4M)
    B1 : 83/55 (Seals), 1 S4M = 3 Seals
    B2 : 141/94 (Seals) or 725/570 (Medallions)

It's updates like these that make me give up on armour sets altogether.

Re: Inflation in Upgrade 5 - Makolas - 28 Nov, 11

Well, update 5 gives as another set of raid armours to barter for - not sure how that would impact the current set. Anyway, B2 is certainly not the improvement that one might expect in this regard.

If 1 S4M = 50 medallions and and armour pieces cost 725 or 570 medallions doesn't that equate to the equivalent of 14 and 11.4 S4M? That would mean that those armour pieces are in fact much cheaper than at present, not more expensive.

1 S4M = 2 Seals and you need 94 Seals for the cheapest piece... Although you're right that the conversion from Superior 4ths to medallions is rather positive. Just compare 1 S4M = 2 Seals, 1 Seal = 2 medallions, but 1 S4M = 50 medallions, looks as though they don't want you to trade S4M for seals anymore.

I agree Belegwe, if those conversion rates are correct and carried over to live (and that's a big "if"), then converting s4ms to medallions is better than converting them to seals, if armour is the end goal. This also would indicate that it may be worth saving up S4M's until after the update, though I would add that this is a huge gamble, given the likelihood that the conversion rates may well be tweaked.

However, the real issue is this: how many seals or medallions will be dropped each raid after the patch?  This question will be the real measure of inflation, long term, while the barter conversion rates will presumably be temporary during the transition.

I suspect that given there is now a new and better raid set, the developers will intentionally want to make this older set easier to obtain for the casual players that haven't got it yet.

Well, if the costs stay the same it would be really interesting, since afaik Veteran # marks convert into Medallions by default... so you might use those medallions for Draigoch and be able to use any excess S4M to convert into Seals and use them for the new raid set. And then the lowered S4M->Seal rate suddenly makes sense.

...but check out the stats on the 3 new sets. I haven't done a detailed comparison, but my first response is that I will probably stay with the full Draigoch set (if/when I get a full set) rather than go after one of the new Hunter sets.

Well, that armour set is sh... anyway (Worst set ever). We will have new sets, so who cares tbh?  8)

I've got this crazy idea that the new seals and medallions will be bound to account rather than character. Am I correct in this or did my subconscious fool me?
