Account Change - Eresmir - 28 Nov, 10

As some of you may know, my account was upgraded to VIP without explanation during the week. However, I recieved this email from CM this morning:

Quote:Dear *****,

In order to resolve the issues with incorrect account Premium statuses, we have changed your account status to VIP for four weeks. This will address the "Free player account" locks you may have encountered on characters you logged in with during launch week.

During this period you must log into the game with each of your characters in order for your account status to be "reset".

If you miss the four-week window or fail to log in during this time with all of your affected characters your account will be left in a "Free player" state.

The window for logging in ends December 23rd, 2010 at 23.59pm (GMT). Please make sure you log in before that date! After 4 weeks, your account will be downgraded to Premium, unless you decide to maintain your subscription as a VIP.

Kind regards,
The LOTRO-Europe Team.

Strange as this is, ive no idea what they mean by these "Free player locks". Pity it isnt permanent!!

Once you have been VIP or a pre-F2P subscriber, all your old characters are supposed to have no gold limits, all trait slots available, all bags and some more stuff like that. Apparently they screwed up and fix it by giving a bunch of people free VIP, so these locks will be removed when you log into your character while you have VIP status.

And yes, for Free/Premium players it's probably very cost-effective to take one month of VIP, create a bunch of characters and enjoy Premium with a lot less limitations afterwards.

Ah, that makes sense, though i didnt encounter any of these problems, or "locks" as they call them, i wont say no to 4 weeks VIP!
