Application- Which class? - Paz121292 - 19 Aug, 07

Im thinking of staring a new LOTRO character, and was wondering if any of you guys suggest one to me, so that i can train him up for later.
I saw that you are low on captains, burglars and lore-masters, and minstrels (well, i say low but u can never have too many). Also, I will probably be a man, as all those classes fit into that race.

So, any Suggestions?

Well.. Lore masters and burglars are quite crowded already Wink
Captains and minstrels are the ones we need most at the moment.

Anyhow... Mind giving us some information on who you are ?

Yeah, sorry!

Im a British player (i wont say my age, but i can safely say im a Teenager), with plenty of experience on other MMORPGs (WOW, Guildwars, Runescape...) i have a few other characters on the Gilrain server, but I cant find any decent Kinships on there. I saw this after i did a search on Laurelin, and this seems like a friendly, battle-hardy group!

Unfortunately i have no characters on Laurelin, and as such i need to make one. I have a lvl 21 Hunter (Elf) and lvl 13 burglar (Hobbit) on Gilrain, in case u need to know.

We have 6 minstrels, but you can never have enough Minstrels.  We only have 3 Captains mind!  I'd say Captains are a fantastically fun class to play (myself being one) and with the new updates in the book 10 patch we look to become one of the most powerful classes for holding a fellowship together.

Even if you aren't thinking of joining this particular kinship, I think there's a general shortage of Captains on Laurelin, which means your class-specific items are easier to get hold of (in terms of cash, or likelihood of winning a roll), you're less likely to be grouped up with another of the same class, and the developers (as they are this week) are likely to boost your class to make it more and more powerful to try to attract more people to play them.

(As an illustration , class book pages cost 200 silver-ish for captains, while other classes may have to pay a gold a page.)

Oh, the vast majority of us are adults.  I'm 28 and that's about average for us - we have several players in their 30s too.  Do you mean teenager as in 13 or teenager as in 19, because there's a great difference!  People get a little nervous about writing adult-oriented things in kinship chat you see  ;D

Awesome! Thanks for ur help guys!

What lvl should i be before considering applying? I see that most people are high lvls, so it may be some time before applying.

Thanks again

I'm no teenager meth!
Rawr =P
Though I am in my "teens" theoretically =/

Re: Application- Which class? - Paz121292 - 19 Aug, 07

As for Teenager, i mean 14. Sorry about that, but i've always been told not to give out too much information of yourself on the internet.

Also (as for the adult-style chat) I write like this usually anyway, so its not a big change! Im pretty mature, and won't go and making a prat of myself (eg. running off whilst leaving someone to thier doom, spamming here ETC.)

Let's see. If you want to join our kinship and we are always looking for new members. A guardian is a nono, as we have reached our guardin limit. Minstrels would be good and as meth said, Captains are welcomed with outstreached arms.
But try out the classes, and play the one you really feel is jsut right for you.

Re: Application- Which class? - Paz121292 - 19 Aug, 07

Ive tried out a captain today, at a friend's house, and i reckon (?) i should be alright with it.

no1 has said, yet, which level i should be before applying though. Anyone give me a rough estimnate?

Thanks.
