guys dont speculate on the offers you see on the us forums, they are not for CM customers so it could all be different for us.

Well, Turbine designs the content; the local operators (such as Codemasters) don't have much choice in what content they are going to sell, and how exactly they are going to sell it. They may make the selling plans a bit different (if they decide that is more viable for EU) but in the end it will all boil to the stuff that Turbine offers.

Well - I'm not a student and the moneys not a problem but I dont want to pay RL cash for ingame items. They spent so much time defeating the gold sellers, seems plain wrong to start charging for stuff.

The only solution to a terminal decline will be combining servers (in theory we could all play on the US servers), though there will be significant renewed interest when the Hobbit film is released, which is maybe why we are expanding East away from the LOTR storyline instead of South to Rohan.

And in fact when everybody are waiting for Rohar, I want to see Esgaroth...

Re: New Siege of Mirkwood info! - Druth - 05 Oct, 09

I think, if they're smart, that they skip Rohan and go straight for Black gate after Dol Guldur.

What's to come from Rohan? Other than another endless area, that will further depopulate the other areas...?

Moria made sense, because after killing the Balrog, there was still the problem of clearing out all the orcs, Rohan after the fellowship, is nothing but horse-lords.
Fangorn maybe... but I don't want to kill trees, I want to kill orcs!

With the black gate, they could make a secret camp on the mountain side, from which Faramir sends the players into Mordor on dangerous missions...
There'd also be that swamp area (Emyn Myir... can't rememeber the name...). The ring passing through should have awoken lots of dangerous entities!

You could also help Faramir in Skirmish missions stopping Easterlings incomming from Rhun area, and it would set the stage for moving the battle to Osgiliath/Anor/Morgul.

Imagine how desolate the areas will be, when they have: Eriador, Moria, Loth, Mirkwood, Rohan, South Gondor (after having moved through Path of the dead), plains in front of Osgiliath, Black gate, Mordor, the Dale?
To many cool areas, for to few people...

They also once said they'd expand westwards to...
I must actually admit, I'd rather see the white towers, than Esgaroth Smile

Re: New Siege of Mirkwood info! - Thoronthor - 05 Oct, 09

by the time the fellowship (not the ring) passed into Rohan the place was in a state of war with orcs and dunlendings attacking Rohan from all sides, there should be plenty of action and hopefully no silly woms around. The Battle of helms Deep should be an epic think to play.

Also Faramir would never send people into Mordor, at that point in time the orcs were pouring out of Mordor and everything East of the Great River was in the hands of Sauron, with Osgiliath being heavily contested.

The point being there should be even more fighting going on in Rohan and Gondor than anywhere else in the game.

Re: New Siege of Mirkwood info! - Maurvaethil - 05 Oct, 09

Bah, Rohan, a bunch of a blondes living in thatched huts in a landmark-less country... I'm living in Rohan! Must I play in it, too? The only upside I can see will be all the horsies..

Re: New Siege of Mirkwood info! - Clodvig - 06 Oct, 09

Hmmm, there are fights in Rohan. From one side u have Isengard, from another Dunland. And dont forgot about Ghost Path, taht can give you a lot of options.

My point was more, that if we have to go through every place that has fights, the game will likely end before we reach Mordor Smile
All about finances... and the movies are fairly distant now, so the world is not in everymans spotlight anymore.

The Hobbit might revieve it, but... the game is about following the Fellowship, not Bilbo and his merry dwarves...

Re: New Siege of Mirkwood info! - Jhaekeb - 07 Oct, 09

Well - the Epic quests were about following the fellowship, (and cleaning up the abysmal mess they leave middle earth in - no wonder Tolkien didnt write about all that...) but I don't see how that can lead to Mirkwood.

Sadly, like most of RL, the game only lives as a commercial entity - either we pay more for our fun, or we find more people to join the fun.
